We specialize in therapy that focuses on immigration processes & newcomer transitions to Canada, as well as infertility issues and its effects on relationships.  Through our psychotherapeutic supports we work with you to help manage your stress and anxiety, and to work through your mental health concerns.



At Yellow Umbrella Wellness, we offer one-on-one as well as group and family counselling options.  You can expect to develop an increased understanding of yourself and your stressors, as well as healthy ways to manage the daily struggles that can leave you feeling unmotivated, unsuccessful, and unhappy.  Together, we can address the self-protective behaviours that no longer serve you. 


We use a number of different models and approaches to inform the type of services we provide.  You can expect to discuss this further during your initial counselling/psychotherapy session.


We work with children aged 4+, youth, couples and adults for issues that are current or working on past traumas.

Psychotherapy and Social Work

Yellow Umbrella Wellness provides trauma-informed counselling services for individuals, couples, and families of all ages. Our highly experienced counselors work with young kids, tweens, teens and adults from all backgrounds in an accepting, respectful, and comfortable environment. We are committed to making every client feel safe to express their thoughts, feelings, and whatever difficulties they or their loved ones are struggling with. Our social work practice responds to needs of individuals, families, groups, and communities and addresses barriers and injustices in organizations and society. Social work focuses on improving health and social well-being using the social aspects of health framework when delivering services, navigating systems, and advocating for equitable access to and improvement of the multiple dimensions that impact health and well-being. Social work engages people and communities to address life challenges and traumatic events, to create change, and build resiliency.

Individual Counselling

Our individual counselling provides clients with a one-on-one interaction with a therapist virtually or in-person. Due to COVID-19, we ensure that all in person sessions are abiding by local guidelines.


Our sessions are a confidential, safe and non-judgmental environment where individuals can express their feelings, thoughts and behaviours, barrier-free. We specialize in counselling for newcomers, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with fertility issues and those who have experienced domestic violence with an anti-Racist, anti-prejudice approach.


Therapy is not like a one-size-fits-all scarf. It is meant to be tailored to your needs, wants and expectations. We want to see you thrive and learn from doing inner work.

Couples Counselling

We provide couples’ counselling that helps with strengthening the emotional connection among couples. It helps partners shift the unhelpful interactive patterns that contribute to communication difficulties. Communication is at the core of a relationship and we believe refining and constantly working on it is imperative to improving your relationship. We dig deep into problems that couples may be facing and how individual mental health concerns affect relationships.


Our counsellors have expertise in providing counselling to couples who are dealing with infertility. Using a personalized and compassionate approach, we will work with you to unpack its impact on your relationship and develop strategies to cope with it.


Our couples counselling can also be used to help you navigate through sticky situations that you may be in.

Family and Youth Counselling

Family counselling is a breathing space that creates a safe and positive environment where families can come together to communicate, discuss, and resolve ongoing difficulties that are challenging to approach at home. Family dynamics can be strained due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we want to ensure that your home is a safe place for all. 


We also provide counselling for children and youth with a focus on self-esteem, family dynamics, social media safety and the effects of bullying. We understand how youth are greatly affected by social media and bullying which makes it a priority to us when it comes to our work.

Counselling for Newcomers

With years of experience working with newcomers, we provide counselling services to help you navigate your new life here. Moving to a new place is difficult which is why we bring you a curated therapy experience that helps alleviate any mental health stressors.


We want to ensure that your transition to a new place is not met with hostility rather a chance for a fresh start and new perspective.

Anger Management

Times are stressful and we understand. We provide anger management and prevention classes to people who are vulnerable to using anger as a way of coping. In our classes, we teach you how to develop healthy and effective ways in dealing with life’s stressors and your mental health.
